Koukaam IPCorder Group - CMS for your KNR

Hello again after holiday break! Ohh it was busy time, combination of business trips, mountain climbing (I just love Tatra mountains), surveillance installations and technical seminaries, but I managed to make some interesting tests that I will be happy to show results to you!

First of all, I get positive feedback from you, considering IPCorder reviews, some of you bought those recorders and are happy using them (are there unhappy users?).
Some of you asked me what if you have a multiple installations (like stores or schools) with KNRs in each of them, or one big system or data center where you have to manage hundreds of cams connected to multiple IPCorders?
Well Koukaam released new solution - IPCorder Group, a hardware based CMS solution.

How does it work in theory?
Well, let's say that you have four sites with KNR in each of them:
Home - 8 cams, KNR-1008
Office - 16 cams, KNR-5016
Shop 1 - 40 cams, KNR-5040
Shop 2 - 24 cams. KRR-424

And lets say that you want to set surveillance station that will display all cameras on multiple monitors with different configurations, use mobile app to view all cams, search recorded video from all those KNRs, use digital I/Os in those stores, set user privilages, and you want to do that from one place and one interface, without logging to each NVR.
How to do that?

Well it's pretty simple, you have to put one KNR in central station, install special firmware (IPCorder Group) that will convert it to a "OVERLORD" unit.

How to mutate your KNR in to a Overlord

Overlord's job is to control Drones - your other KNRs with IP cameras. You can add those KNRs to Overlord, just as you add IP cameras.

This is how you add your Drones.

This will create huge, connected system, that can be managed from one place.

Example of management options you can make from Overlord Unit.

Cool stuff right? But you may wonder, which KNR can become Overlord? Well it depends on how many Drones you want to have. Check out this table below:
Mannaged IPCordersIPCorder models suitablefor CMS activationManaged IP camerasSmartphone app
IPCorder Group 88KNR-1004up to 320iOS, Android
IPCorder Group 1616KNR-200, KNR-2008up to 640iOS, Android
IPCorder Group 3232KNR-206, KRR-416, KNR-2016up to 1280iOS, Android
IPCorder Group 6464KRR-4040, KNR-5040up to 2560iOS, Android

As you can see, in our scenario you can use KNR-1004, it is able to dominate up to 8 Drones, and it doesn't matter if you use other KNR-1004's or even KNR-5040's as Drones, you buy licence for number of managed KNRs.
About buying, this solution is really cheap one, especially if you think about hardware based CMS system!

I bet that you're wondering:
"Can I use this Overlord unit as a NVR to record cameras on it?"

The answer is simple:
NO YOU CAN'T! It is Overlord man! Overlords don't do stuff, they just tell Drones to do that stuff for them.

Ok, ok, but how it manages to do all that stuff? I mean, KNR-1004 an Overlord for so many NVRs? First time I heard about that idea I thought it will blow up or meltdown. So I had to test it for myself.
I had 32x ACTi E12 cams in my lab, so I set 8x KNR-1004 + one KNR-1004 as a Overlord.

Adding all KNRs.

I was rly surprised with results! Check them below:

All those channels in one Overlord and CPUload is only 25%
I know that 32 cams it's not too much but cmon! CPU load is only 25%! And it didn't rise when I connected more KNRs.

It looks like Koukaam released another great product for a fair price. It is stable and easy to use it has all functions that you need on a CMS system.

Good job Koukaam :)
